Neil Patrick Harris, star of “How I Met Your Mother,” is a father twice over.

According to a Twitter message Friday from Harris that was confirmed by his publicist, the actor and his partner, David Burtka, welcomed twins this week.

Harris tweeted, “Babies!! On 10/12, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace entered the Burtka-Harris fold.” He added, “All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey.”

The 37-year-old actor announced earlier this year that he and Burtka would become parents of twins. He didn’t say whether they were adopting or using a surrogate.

Harris, who plays Barney on the CBS sitcom, won an Emmy Award this year for a guest appearance on “Glee” and shared in another Emmy for the Tony Awards, which he hosted.

A glowing and very pregnant looking Alanis Morissette was all smiles as she went for a gentle stroll yesterday. Meeting up with Clueless star Alicia Silverstone, the pair were spotted enjoying a chat and a laugh as they headed for a spot of lunch at famed hot spot Urth cafe in West Hollywood. The 36-year-old singer is thought to be in her second trimester after announcing she was pregnant with her first child back in August. The Canadian star wore a smart pair of pregancy jeans with a wide bump-friendly elasticated waist, teamed with a tight black vest top to show off her growing baby belly. Although she opted to wear comfortable patent leather flat pumps, the stylish mum-to-be was not giving up on fashion just yet – she jazzed-up her look with a sheer leopard-print blouse, which went nicely with her tiger design arm tattoo. Despite her generous bump, Alanis still has a way to go, with an estimated due date sometime in February.

Wee … I love seeing Alanis lookin’ so beautiful. I love it even more that she is BFFs with Alicia Silverstone, who I love entirely. I can totally see how these two lovely ladies would be friends. I hope we get to see more of these two hanging out … I just love them both.

Serbian Protest Of Gay Pride Parade Turns Into Violent Riot!

CNN really wants you, Katie Couric, and it looks like they're willing to make the effort to steal you away from CBS and win you over!

Jeff Bewkes, the CEO of CNN's parent company Time Warner has said that CNN has the money "to pay for some of the biggest talent in TV news…"

Here's what the head of CBS, Les Moonves, had to say about it:

"The Katie Couric deal will be the last big deal of that kind ever done. Those days are over."

More from Moonves:

"People are getting the news elsewhere. When there were only three networks, you did have that public service component, where we were informing America. Now, there is nothing that Katie Couric is saying that everybody doesn't know already."

CNN's Bewkes doesn't seem to be on the same wavelength. When asked if he's putting a cap on salaries for talent, here's what he had to say:

"Absolutely not. Let the word go out."

Should be inneresting to say how this plays out.

We're thinking we'll be seeing Couric on CNN, sooner than later.

Blue Valentine, the film which stars Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams, has been getting rave film festival reviews but the shadowy Motion Picture Association of America has decided to slap the film with the kiss of death rating of NC-17 … which means many theaters will opt out of showing the film when it gets released this Fall. Here are a few screencaps from the first movie trailer for the film and some deets about the film’s rating:

In a shocking decision, the Motion Picture Association of America has slapped “Blue Valentine” with the dreaded NC-17 rating. The Weinstein Company has high hopes for the drama and has been planning to mount an awards campaign for the Sundance pick-up. “Blue Valentine’s” NC-17 is the latest in a string of controversial decisions by the MPAA ratings board. In the last few months, it handed out R ratings to two award-winning documentaries — “The Tillman Story” and “A Film Unfinished.” Both lost their appeals. Starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams, the indie film drew strong reviews from critics who hailed its unflinching look at the breakdown of a marriage. Those who have seen the film were surprised by the decision, noting that while the movie contains sex scenes with some nudity, they were not exploitative. The filmmakers now have four options. They can, of course, accept the rating. They can appeal it to a board composed of distributors, exhibitors and industry executives; they can edit the film and resubmit it; or they can release the film unrated. A spokesperson for the studio had no comment, and it was not immediately clear if the filmmakers would make the cuts necessary to earn an R rating or appeal the board’s decision. The MPAA would not comment on its reasons for the rating, noting that it maintains a posture of silence on all films until the rating has been accepted.

What really KILLS me about the MPAA is that their decisions are made by a board of unknown people and their rulings aren’t governed by any public entity. Essentially, what they say goes … and that is the end of the discussion. Last week I was able to attend the premiere of the MPAA unrated film Hatchet II … a film that has since been yanked from AMC Theaters after they initially agreed to show the film. I understand some parent’s need to rely on movie ratings but I do NOT agree that those ratings should come from a faceless organization that is free to do whatever they want, completely unfettered. It remains to be seen what will happen to Blue Valentine. Either it will make the necessary cuts to get an R rating or it will stick with the NC-17 rating and get hobbled at the box office. My guess is that the film will get censored … which really rubs me the wrong way. After the jump, check out the trailer for Blue Valentine for your first look at the film …

I’ve been really looking forward to the release of this film for many months … I hope the version I eventually get to see will keep the spirit of the original vision alive.

The new season of Sesame Street is already in full swing and even tho Katy Perry (and her heaving bosom) are persona non grata folks like Oprah Winfrey have already been featured on the iconic children’s TV series. In addition to Her Holy Oprahness, salty actor Colin Farrell has also been welcomed to Sesame Street … for some strange reason:

He’s known for his colourful language, womanising ways and love of the drink. But despite his hellraiser reputation, Colin Farrell was bizarrely picked by TV bosses to make a guest appearance on children’s show Sesame Street. It comes just weeks after producers of the hit American programme pulled scenes of Katy Perry after a YouTube video of her in the sketch, wearing a very low cut dress, attracted complaints from parents who deemed her attire too racy. In the skit, Irish-born Farrell, 34, and some of the puppet characters investigated the word ‘investigate’. Murray the Monster seemed most impressed with the actor, telling Farrell he was ‘tall and handsome’ and ‘pretty smart’. Farrell has said filming the guest spot was one of the high-points of his career. ‘I did a scene with Elmo and a couple of the other characters,’ he says. ‘The word of the day was “investigation.” We did a scene with a couple of talking carrots,’ he explained, before adding, ‘and shit. It was genius!’

I mean … what? It doesn’t really make much sense to me to put Colin Farrell on a kids show like this particularly because there isn’t much to gain on Sesame Street‘s part. I can see how Colin might love to be on the show, especially since he is a father of young sons. My guess is that the told him the word of the day was Investigate which he misheard as Inebriate and thought, Yeah … I can handle that. In all honesty, the clip is kinda cute. Meet Constance Zimmer, an American actress best known for her portrayal of Dana Gordon on the hit HBO show “Entourage”. Wedding bells are chiming as Constance and her boyfriend of 4-years, Russ Lamoureux, just got married! FYI: Wedding photos haven’t been made available yet, but we’ll be sure to post them as soon as they are. Read more below.

How romantic does this sound? The ceremony took place on a rooftop garden overlooking Sunset Boulevard as family and friends watched the couple exchange vows and dedicate their lives to one another… Sounds like something out of a movie, or better yet a television show, doesn’t it?

Zimmer gushed to People Magazine about how perfectly the whole day went, saying:

“We had drinks while the sun went down. No one wanted to leave. We curled up on the giant velvet couches that lined the windows to eat our cookies and milk.”

I bet you don’t know much else about the actress other than she is on ‘Entourage’, so for your reading pleasure, here’s a tidbit of intriguing information.

As a biography, Constance Zimmer was born on October 11, 1970 in Seattle, Washington. She participated in gymnastics until her early teens. During high school she discovered acting, and began performing in school productions of various plays. These were her developmental years as an actress, and, surely, they played an important role in her current success. Her hobbies include: arts and crafts and being the leader of a book club. Her and her husband have a daughter named Colette Zoe… Now wasn’t that fun?
